In America, suicide stands as the 2nd leading cause of death among 12- to 34-year-olds, and the No. 1 cause of injury-related death among those across all age groups. Hope For The Day, a global 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, focuses its efforts on combating the stigma behind the idea and opening up lines of conversation between those at risk and those who can help. The goal for Hope For The Day is to achieve proactive suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education through self-expression platforms including music and the arts.
“Proactive prevention is about creating an environment that doesn’t wait for someone to reach a point of crisis before addressing their mental health. We will reduce rates by raising the visibility of resources through outreach and by providing mental health education to empower a grassroots movement of peer-to-peer proactive prevention.”
The organization has spoken in 26 countries around the world, given 412 speeches, and visited a total of 127 cities on their road toward educating those at risk.
On Friday, May 26, “Bass Gives Me Hope” will feature performances from G-Buck, Light.Em.Up, Jsquared and Elevated. G-Buck is best known for his work with labels Mad Decent, DimMake, Main Course and Get Right, which has fostered lines of continual support from the likes of EDM heavyweights Skrillex, Diplo, A-Trak, DJ Snake and more. With his signature brand of unmistakable energy and screaming production, his presence at Subterranean is primed to provide the perfect dance party atmosphere.
